The cost of fuel has dramatically increased of late. Road fund licence is no longer a “one size fits all” outgoing for car drivers. Toll roads are in place and the charge for using these is also on the increase. Car insurance premiums have risen. All in all, the costs involved in running a car in the UK today are high, they have risen much more quickly than wages.

There is another side to this coin. The charges we as individuals are incurring are also being felt by businesses involved with running public transport. I travel weekly to London from Newcastle upon Tyne and currently to walk into the railway station and obtain a return ticket, the fee is over £250. Added to this is the cost of an underground tube ticket plus car parking at Newcastle upon Tyne rail station. Buy a drink and biscuit on the train, each way, and the outlay for a day in London is about £300.

How can many people actually afford to lose £300 from their weekly wages in commuting costs? It is no surprise, therefore, that many folk are choosing to Work From Home. With faster broadband links and affordable PCs, it is becoming a much more viable option to make the choice to work for an Internet Business who specialize in permitting their staff to Work From Home.

Some people may wish to stay with their current company, but not have to incur the daily charge involved in getting to work. They could speak with their managers to see how realistic it would be to do Online Jobs so many days a week from their house, commuting to work fewer times per week.

For those who chose to work for an Internet Business and Work From Home on a permanent basis, they could see immediate financial benefit over the cost of getting to work daily. In recent years we are all advised about our carbon footprint. Adverts on TV, news items, all advise how we can offset our CO2 levels to save the planet for future generations. We are given information on ways to offset our carbon emissions by requesting companies to become involved in planting trees.

By opting to Work From Home, we can lower our carbon footprint as we are not going by car to work daily. At home we can choose energy-saving light bulbs and most likely do not have air conditioning units, both are moves which will help to save the earth.

In business premises we have no say over insulation matters, whereas if we select to Work From Home, we are working in an environment where we have probably made sure that insulation levels are at the best possible for energy efficiency.

There are now many opportunities for people who want to Work From Home, either continuing in their current job, but asking for permission to spend more time at home and less in the office, therefore lowering the carbon footprint, or even leaving their current job and starting up an Internet Business to become in complete control of your CO2 work levels.

I’m sure you’ve wondered what women are thinking when you approach them.

More often than not, guys believe that the girls they approach are going to try and catch them pulling a pick up routine.

They believe the girl is thinking about all the different ways she can reject them before they even open their mouths.

So they try to HIDE their true intentions.

They try to come off as a guy who just “wants to be their friend.”

But little do they know they are doing more harm than good.

See, if a girl is even half-way decent looking, chances are she’s used to being approached by guys looking to date her.

So a girl KNOWS what you want if you’re bothering to approach her.

She’s thinking:

“Oh, this guy must be interested in me.”

At this point, she has two choices…

The first is to reject him, because she’s not interested for some reason.

OR, she can humor him and see where it goes, because she actually IS interested at the time.

What most guys try to do is bypass the option where she could reject them because they don’t want to go through that pain.

So they try to “weasel” their way into her life by acting COMPLETELY disinterested in her romantically.

At that point, the girl starts to think:

“Okay, I guess he’s not into me. But he’s cool, he’ll make a good friend.”

But once the guy tries to make his move on her, she’ll reject him, because he’s already been pegged into the “friend” category.

Why?

Because he removed himself as a potential LOVER early on! That’s why!

See, by trying to bypass the possibility of rejection, what most guys are really doing is setting up a long, drawn-out, painful experience.

They’ll get to know the girl, and develop a deep, pining attraction over her. But she’ll never feel the same way about those types of guys.

If she just rejected you outright, it will hurt, yes. But only for a bit, and less so in the long run. And you won’t have to waste your time.

Stout dahlia branches loop may be prevented by driving in additional supports in a triangle round each plant, some little way from the stem to avoid damaging roots, pointing outwards at the top. These supports need not be as stout as the central stake, and even quite light canes may be used.

It is important to remember that the dahlia, although a very strong growing plant, is at its weakest during the first few weeks after planting, and that two things are essential during this period.

The first is the removal of all competition from weeds. The ground should be kept scrupulously clear of weeds by using a dutch hoe at reasonably frequent intervals during the first few weeks after planting. Later the use of a hoe will be inadvisable owing to the presence of feeder roots close to the surface.

The second is the removal of all pests. The dahlia is peculiarly susceptible to attack at this time; earwigs and slugs in particular will completely ruin a plant in a matter of days if allowed complete freedom. Slug bait should be used and the plant dusted or sprayed at intervals with Gamma B.H.C., or a similar insecticide. B.H.C. is recommended because this is also effective against aphides. There are a number of branded insecticides on the market containing this.

The individual blooms on a plant can themselves be timed to reach perfection over a short period by careful selection of the branches to be retained. The top pair of shoots will always bloom first, the pair immediately below a little later, and so on down the plant; the actual variation may only be a day or two, but even this variation is valuable. Hence it is usual when stripping off the surplus side branches, to remove one shoot of the two developing in the arils of each pair of leaves, from top to bottom, on alternate sides.

If several canes are used it is simple; all that is needed is a circle of string round plants and canes to hold all in place. If only one stake is provided the developing growth should be carefully looped back to this, striving to provide support but at the same time keeping the plant open to allow the free circulation of air through the foliage and also to prevent bunching of flowers when these appear. Overcrowding can only lead to bruised and malformed florets. If the stakes have been wired together some of the branches could he secured to the supporting wires. Where a cane has been provided for each branch all that is needed is a simple loop of string round branch and stake at regular intervals.
